I told myself I would give Orchards 100 pages. I made it 23.

1. みかん oranges is redundant

2. I was fucking done with this book when Thompson used the term "J*plish" to refer to speaking a mix of Japanese and English. If she really wanted to use a portmanteau she should have avoided one that utilizes a slur. Why didn't Thompson just use Japanglish instead?

I'm done with Thompson as an author. Between this and being bored by her other book, just no. Add Orchards to the long list of reasons I don't trust characters of color written by white authors.
