In places this book reminded me both of Ash by Malinda Lo and The Diviners by Libba Bray. It's slow going at times, and gets a little repetitive occasionally, but overall the plot wasn't terrible. Debbie Reese took the time to write a post pointing out issues with the portrayal of the Metis in the book.
