More interactions between Cassie and Marco please. Though the cookies and milk felt weird.* They're a pretty interesting duo. Other than that, this is another eh book. Not quite as ridiculous as The Experiment but not one of the better ones either.
*In that it's totally normal and nothing in these books is ever normal so normal things start to feel really weird.
Some discussion under the cut
Not a fan of the mixed morphs, but at least it's a weird morphing thing that's not happening to Rachel.
Ax using thought speak feels like a cop out here. It makes sense on missions when he's away from the others and needs to communicate, but when he's in the barn why wouldn't he "make mouth sounds" like always? I think Jeffrey Zeuhlke isn't that great at writing Ax in human morph. He only does it once and Ax feels really out of character. The word/sound play isn't nearly as good as it is in other books.
Who can plan a wedding in two weeks? Seriously? I know it's Marco's dad's second wedding but still.
I read this one as a kid, but Marco's mom calling him at the end wasn't intriguing enough for me to ever pick up Visser.
