This was another one of my favorites as a kid and it didn't disappoint. I wish it were longer, but that's pretty much my only complaint.
Just a little discussion under the cut.
Episode 1 is not cool... though this did make me wonder about the timeline. The first book was published in 1996 and now it's 1999 but how much time is passing in the timeline? A lot of the books seem set pretty close together. They haven't seemed to have a summer break. There are indications of the seasons changing, but I haven't been keeping track that closely.
It apparently took two mentions of Aldrea's name to penetrate Ax's brain that they were talking about Seerow's daughter.
I can't tell of the Atafalxical seems too dramatic for the Arn or not. They're a strange species. Very technologically advanced (which makes me think the process should be more straightforward) yet these are also the people who created the Hork Bajir. I get their blades are for cutting bark, but you could create a creature that eats bark without making them a walking razor blade. See the beaver. They also created all the monsters of the Deep and altered their own physiology so that they would die if a Yeerk tried to enter their brain. So maybe the Atafalxical wasn't dramatic enough?
One time Aldrea refers to "Father Sky" instead of Mother Sky.
