I know I'm probably in the minority here, but I'm not a huge fan of Tobias's books (execption: The Illusion which is so so good). I only read two of them as a kid. This was one of them. It's OK, but it does read very similarly to his first two books. I get that being stuck in the body of a hawk is hard and the conflict does change subtly each time, but I'm a little bored of reading about Tobias deciding in one way or the other to stay in the fight every time he narrates a book.
That said, the books answers a lot of the questions I had about
(show spoiler).
