I enjoyed this book. With the exception of one mention of the "Wild East" (Ah, yes, the East is so wild where as the West is so civilized. /sarcasm). That bit of the book I could have done without, but reading books about art has taught me that there will always be some sort of orientalism in there somewhere.
Other than that, the book is an interesting overview at why and how men* (Charney states at the beginning that there are no notable female art forgers) forge artwork and get away with it. I'm sure there's enough information in some of the stories to fill a book (The Forger's Spell by Edward Dolnick is a great book about Han Van Meegeren).
*I'm pretty sure they're also all white.
