I read James and the Giant Peach once as a kid, but I listened to the audiobook a lot (cassette, most likely abridged since I don't remember the Cloud Men). If I had read this as an adult there's a lot of ridiculous I wouldn't be able to get past, but I read it as a kid, so I accept the ridiculous plot. The poetry isn't Dahl's best, and this the illustrations in my copy are pretty creepy (the only Dahl book I've read that wasn't illustrated by Quentin Blake). But it's a quick reread and was a nice trip down nostalgia lane.
ETA: Apparently today is Roald Dahl's birthday. Maybe my subconscious knew this.
