Farewell to the East End

Farewell to the East End: The Last Days of the East End Midwives - Jennifer Worth

This is a lovely end to the Call the Midwife trilogy. I read it much more quickly that I read Shadows of the Workhouse. Farewell to the East End is more similar in tone and structure to Call the Midwife (book 1) which I enjoyed.

I started reading the books because I had finished watching the show. The new series starts on PBS soon but I don't know what I'll do when I'm done with that. Start all over again I suppose. And in case anyone is wondering. The show is rather faithful to the books but it does take liberties. Events are shuffled, characters are swapped but all in all both are very enjoyable.

ETA: There are racial slurs used through out the books. G***y is in every book (I'm pretty sure), and Chinaman is used in the last one for sure.
