An Un-Calibrated Centrifuge

Of Metal and Wishes

Of Metal and Wishes - Sarah Fine

I haven't actually read this book, but I read a review of it that said the book wasn't bad.* I checked out the first few pages and have decided it's not for me. 1. Written by a white woman. 2. Food descriptors for the non-white characters but not the white ones = immediate turn off.

It's not an interesting enough premise for me to read and the chances are too large for cultural appropriation/racism within.

*I also read a review that said the book was horrible and the portrayal of all the Asian (not sure if there's actually an Asia in the book but I'm guessing that's what they're supposed to be based on the girl on the cover) men is horrible. I don't need more terrible representation of Asian men in my YA. I've had enough of that to last me a lifetime.
